A HORRIBLE CRIME
Cecil Alves, 20, was convicted of first-degree murder and rape in the death of 16 year old Michelle Donnelly. Michelle was slain on April 26th, 1998. Alves was found guilty of the highest charge against him and also of first-degree rape. The first-degree murder conviction carries a
punishment of life in prison without parole. Sentencing is scheduled for November 4th. Donnelly was waiting for Alves' younger brother at his house. After he attacked her he buried her body in a shallow grave under a Long Beach bridge. Police searched for 10 days and only found her body after he led them to where he buried her.
