HEMPSTEAD, Long Island (WABC) –A Long Island elementary school art teacher is under arrest, accused of sexually abusing a young girl. And police fear there may be more victims.  Authorities say 51-year-old John Joseph Finnegan, of Island Park, subjected a 10-year-old girl to inappropriate behavior and sexual contact during an after-school program.

The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an alleged sexual assault that a victim reported occurred while she was being held against her will at her Byesville area home for more than two days.  The 38-year-old victim reported a male assailant identified as her boyfriend physically assaulted her and her 18-month-old daughter during the incident. A 29-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after admitting to raping a 12-year-old, his second sex offense with a child.  Justin M. On January 24, 2019, a Lafayette Parish jury convicted 41 year old Donald Griffin of First Degree Rape of a ten year old girl. Judge John Trahan presided over the case. As a result of the rape Griffin impregnated the child, who is currently mother to her one-and-a- half year old son. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Royale Colbert.

Griffin’s sentencing is scheduled for January 31, 2019. Griffin
