BISHOP CITES SEX ABUSE IN REMOVAL OF MAUI PRIEST

PFMLIT CLERGY, General, SEX OFFENDERS AND OTHERS IN POSITIONS OF TRUST

Rev. Joseph Bukoski III, a 49 year old Maui priest, has been permanently removed by Honolulu Bishop Francis X. DiLorenzo.  Bukoski is accused of sexually abusing one or more minors.  He will not be allowed to act as a priest in the Honolulu Diocese again.  He has denied the charges and in an interview last wee, he was critical of DiLorenzo and accused the bishop of violating his rights.  Bukoski is the first priest in Hawaii to be removed in the Catholic Church's nationwide sex-abuse scandal.
