BISHOPS: COMMITTED TO FULL REPORT ON ABUSES

The president of the US bishops said yesterday, an unprecedented count of Roman Catholic priests who have abused children during the past 50 years, and the price tag to the church, will add to the sorrow of Catholics when those numbers are published at the beginning of Lent.  Nonetheless, Bishop Wilton Gregory of Belleville, Ill., said, Catholic leaders remain committed to the pledge of transparency they made last year.
