FATHER WHO KILLED DAUGHTER’S ALLEGED MOLESTER WON’T FACE CHARGE IN LAVACA COUNTY, TEXAS

Jesus Mora Flores, a 47 year old man caught in the act of molesting a 5 year old girlwas beaten to death by the girl's father on the family's Texas ranch on June 9.  The 23 yearold father is unlikely to be arrested to Saturday's killing and that no evidence so far has ledinvestigators to doubt his story.  Flore was an acquaintance of the father who had come tohelp care for some horses.  The adults were shoeing a horse and the girl and her brother hadbeen sent to feed chickens.  The children's grandfather said the boy later came back and saidhis sister had been taken away by a man.  Her father then went out to look for her and foundboth his daughter and Flores partially naked.  In the course of trying to get her awayfrom him, and protect her, he struck Flores several times in the head and the man died.

In declining to indict the father in the killing, a Lavaca County grand juryreached the same conclusion as investigators and many of the father's neighbors: He was authorizedto use deadly force to protect his daughter.  The family ranch is so remote that on the 911tape, the father is heard profanely screaming at a dispatcher who couldn't locate theproperty.  At one point, he tells the dispatcher he's going to put Flores in his truck anddrive him to a hospital. Come on! This guy is going to die on me! I don't know what to do! He's going to die! the father screams, swearing at the dispatcher.  He's going tof------ die!  Emergency crews responding to the father's 911 call found Flores' pants andunderwear pulled down on his lifeless body.  The girl was examined at a hospital and LavacaCounty District Attorney Heather McMinn said forensic evidence and witness accounts corroboratedthe father's story that his daughter was being sexually molested.
