FORMER OFFICER PLEADS GUILTY TO SEX CHARGES
Michael Artis, a 47 year old former Suffolk auxiliary police officer, pleaded guilty in court yesterday to molesting two girls. Artis, of Bellport, pleaded guilty to charges of using a child in a sexual performance and sodomy in the third degree. In exchange for his plea, Suffolk County Court Judge Barbara Kahn is expected to sentence him to 5 to 15 years in prison on September 5.
