FORMER TRACK COACH PLEADS GUILTY

PFMLIT COACH, General, SEX OFFENDERS AND OTHERS IN POSITIONS OF TRUST, TEACHERS SCHOOL STAFF

Elijah Slaughter, a 61 year old former Jacksonville High School teacher and track coach, pleaded guilty on Friday to felony charges of enticing a child for immoral purposes and interfering with the custody of a child.  He was located holed up in a University Inn motel room with a 14 year old girl.  She was a former student of his.  Under a plea bargain arraignment, Slaughter is to receive a seven year sentence for his actions.  His attorney's have applied for his immediate release on probation.  A sentencing hearing has been set for March 21.
