GIRL’S ESSAY LEADS COPS TO CHILD MOLESTER

A 14 year old girl wrote a school essay graphically describing sexual abuse she suffered as a young child and put the man who allegedly molested her behind bars.  Her disturbing work was called Why I Am Who I Am, was the former Denver teens' cry for help.  The essay detailed how a family friend, identified by her only as Roger, repeatedly sexually abused her between 1989 and 1993.  Police found and arrested 44 year old Roger Matthews, a Denver resident and a registered sex offender and former family friend who authorities say committed the sexual abuse described in the teenager's essay.  According to APBnews.com, he has admitted molesting both the girl and her older brother.  Matthews is now being held in the Denver County Jail on two $1 million bonds on two counts of sexual assault on a child and two counts of sexual assault from a position of power for the attack on the girl and her brother, who was 11 years old at the time he was allegedly molested.
