GIRLS LIED ABOUT ASSAULT

Three 12 year old California girls who told authorities they were chased and grabbed by Eric Nordmark, a 36 year old homeless man, sending him to jail for eight months, have been arrested and accused of making up the story.  Last May, the girls, who were 11 at the time, convinced their parents and authorities in suburban Orange County they they had been attacked after one of them scratched herself to fabricate evidence.   All three face felony charges of conspiracy.  Nordmark was charged with assault and child annoyance and jailed awaiting trial.  One of the girls testified against him at his trial in January but she declined to show up for a second day of testimony, and later recanted.
