I THREW AWAY MY BABY: TEEN

The gruesome story of an 18 year old New Jersey girl who allegedly threw two newborns down an air shaft took another sad turn on September 6, 2005, her own dad was accused of fathering both babies.  When a newborn was found at the bottom of the shaft this week, his mom, a high school junior, was arrested and charged with attempted murder.  But now that the decaying body of a second baby has been found in the same place, the tale had taken an even more tragic turn with her father's arrest and the teen being hit with a second murder charge.  The father is charged with aggravated sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and child abuse.

Investigators think the teen tossed the newborn from her apartment's third-story window.  He landed on a pile of trash and survived.  She has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault for her alleged treatment of the boy, who remained hospitalized with a skull fracture and other injuries.  Upon returning to the scene, investigators sifted through the garbage that cushioned the boys fall and came across the remains of a baby girl thought to have died more than a year ago.  The mother faces murder charges in the death of the girl.

On March 28, 2006, the mildly retarded teen admitted she threw her newborn son down her third-story apartment's air shaft last September after giving birth.  She also said in court that her father tossed her newborn daughter down the same air shaft two years before and that he was the father of both infants.  DNA tests confirmed the teen's dad was the father of both children.
