INTERNET PORN DRAWS FEDERAL SENTENCE

Steven Scott Koehler, 40, will spend 7 years in prison for sending child pornography over the Internet.  He was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to taking sexually explicit photographs of a young boy in his neighborhood and posting more than 20 photos on the Internet.  He is the first person in the state's Middle Judicial District to be tried for actually posting Internet pornography.  His guilty plea in October and his cooperation in an undisclosed government investigation reduced his sentence by 25 percent, down to 7 years, the minimum federal sentence for creating child pornography and transporting it across state lines is ten years.  He has been free on $25,000 bond.
