MAN PLEADS GUILTY IN ABDUCTION OF GIRL

Jason Wagner, 24, is accused of abducting a 3 year old girl and keeping her in an attic.  He pleaded guilty today to charges that included kidnapping and rape.  He faces a maximum sentence of 45 years to life in prison for the abduction in April 1999.  He could have been sentenced to life in prison without parole on charges including kidnapping, assault, rape and attempted murder if he was convicted at a trial.  According to the New York Times, four days after she vanished, a police detective found her bound to a board with duct tape in an attic 100 yards from her home.  Her hands and mouth were also taped.
