Police: Man accused of rape at St. Mary’s Park is in custody

The NYPD has arrested the man in connection to the St. Mary's Park rape incident earlier this week.

Police arrested Christopher Martinez, 19, of the Bronx. Officers say Martinez waited outside the home of a 38-year-old woman around 8:30 a.m. Once she exited her home, Martinez allegedly took out a knife and demanded she follow him, forced her inside St. Mary's Park, raped her and stole her debit card.

Martinez is being charged with rape, robbery, criminal sex act and forcible touching.
