POWNAL WOMAN DENIES FAILING TO REGISTER AS SEX OFFENDER
Lisa G. Bozeman, a 44 year old Pownal woman who may be facing criminal charges in Louisiana, has been released from prison on $1,000 bail after she was arrested for failing to comply with conditions from the Vermont sex offender registry. Bozeman pleaded innocent to a misdemeanor charge of failing to comply with the registry on June 19. Bozeman was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in Louisiana in March 2003. The crime is similar to the Vermont charge of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child. Her conviction required her to register as a sex offender in Vermont. An address verification form was mailed to her but was never returned. If convicted of the charge of a first time failure to comply she could be sentenced to up to two years in prison.
