REHTAEH PARSONS SUICIDE: HALIFAX TEEN KILLS HERSELF AFTER ALLEGED RAPE, ONLINE BULLYING

Halifax teenager Rehtaeh Parsons was taken off life-support on Sunday, the endof yet another tragic case of cyber bullying.  Parsons was the victim of an alleged gang rapeand online bullying campaign over the last few months.  The trauma of the rape and ongoingbullying caused depression and suicidal thoughts.  She tried to hang herself last week. The rape allegedly took place when Parsons was just 15 and a student at Cole Harbour District HighSchool.  One of the boys took a photo of her being raped and decided it would be fun todistribute the photo to everyone in Rehtaeh's school and community where it quickly wentviral.  A RCMP spokesman said that police conducted an investigation into the alleged sexualassault and determined there wasn't enough evidence to lay charges.
