Salvatore Zimmardi, a 60 year old who has served 3 years in prison for molesting a preteengirl, was charged Friday with illegally selling two handguns to an FBI informant for $100.  itis illegal for a felon to possess or sell firearms.  Zimmardi was also taped asking theinformant to find a hit man who could somebody for $10,000.  The intended victim was theperson whose police report led to the arrest on molestation charges, Zimmardi's former girlfriend,the girl's mother.  He pleaded not guilty to the gun charges and his public defender said herclient was not serious about hiring a hit man.  Zimmardi was ordered held without bail.
