SUFFOLK COUNTY FAMILY COURT JUDGE WHO ALLEGEDLY JOKED ABOUT CHILD PORNOGRAPHY TRANSFERRED

Without waiting for the State Commission on Judicial Conduct to act on a
complaint filed against Suffolk County Family Court Judge Andrew G.Tarantino,
Jr., the Office of Court Administration has transferred him to thecounty's
civil court. The transfer was made due to the seriousness of theallegations
against Tarantino, which included a decision to allow Dennis DeMille, asex
offender, overnight visits with his children and alleged joking aboutchild
pornography in court. The complaint was filed by Parents for Megan's Lawand
the Crime Victims Center. Tarantino was transferred the day afterthe
complaint was filed.
