THREE HAMPTON SEX OFFENDERS CHARGED FOR USING SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES

Three registered sex offenders face charges following a three month
long investigation into their alleged use of social networking sites
and not notifying police.  Police say Eric White, 46, of Towle Farm
Road, Christopher Daignault, 39, of 22 Mary Batchelder Road and Adam
Miller, 31, of 85 Brown Avenue were operating under disclosed social
networking pages and/or email addresses and failed to notify police.
Police say they do not believe that the offenders were using the online
identifiers to conduct inappropriate activity but their failure to
register their information with authorities constitutes a violation
under the statute.  Sex offenders are not legally prevented from using
social networking sites as long as they are properly registered and
their activity is disclosed during registration.
