Michael Jerome Brown, 44, was in prison for burglary in Maryland in 2003 when investigators found his DNA matched genetic material kept in a rape kit from a 1993 assault on a 9 year old girl.  The victim, who is now 21, was grabbed from behind and dragged to a Queens rooftop, where she was beaten with a brick and sexually assaulted.  Brown denies the charges.  He faces 8 1/3 to 25 years if he is convicted.
