AGENCY COALITION BUSTS 150 FUGITIVES

Governor George Pataki is expected to announce today that more than 150 dangerous fugitives andsexual predators from Nassau County were arrested in a five-day blitz last week as part of a stingoperation that pooled resources across agency lines. Fourteen 10-person teams in Operation RollingThunder fanned across the county - and beyond - on July 24, sweeping up fugitives wanted for rape,arson, burglary, robbery, assault, probation and parole violations, weapons and narcoticsviolations and sex crimes. In addition to the arrests, 215 warrants were cleared and 208 cases wereclosed.
