ARREST IN STALKING OF GIRL, 12 (Maintenance man from Bay Shore pleads not guilty after police say he followed her on way to summer school)

Julian Perez, a 63 year old Bay Shore maintenance man, has been nabbed for stalking a 12 year old girl.  He following the girl in his car and harassed her with leering looks and personal questions.  For three weeks he preyed on the girl, lurking in his car until he spotted her going to summer school in Islip.  Perez followed her on three separate occasions, one time even threatening her after his advances were rebuffed.  Finally, the girl and her mother got a look at the license plate of his 1988 Mercury Cougar and told police.  Perez is a maintenance man for an apartment complex owned by Commack-based Fairfield Properties.  He is charged with fourth-degree stalking, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year.  Perez pleaded not guilty yesterday.  He is being held on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
