A Texas man faces the possibility of significant time behind bars over the alleged abduction of a 14-year-old Utah girl earlier this week.

Frank David Lopez, 20, stands accused of one count of aggravated kidnapping over the incident that prompted a multi-state search and AMBER Alert on Tuesday, March 22, 2021.

As Law&Crime previously reported, 14-year-old Areli Esmeralda Arroyo Osuna was found safe later that same day in San Antonio. Authorities had previously suggested that she was in serious danger and she was initially described as a runaway.

Danueal Drayton, 31, was arraigned Friday on charges of murder, sexual misconduct, grand larceny and more crimes and faces up to 25 years to life in prison in connection with 29-year-old Samantha Stewart’s death.

According to the charges, Stewart met Drayton on the dating app Tinder. The two went on a date on July 16, 2018, and later went to her 145th Road home in Springfield Gardens, Queens. At some point, Drayton allegedly beat and strangled the victim before having sex with her dead body.

LACKAWAXEN TOWNSHIP, PIKE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – Police say they arrested a sex offender who failed to register and also faces multiple other charges.

According to PSP, Lloyd Swisher, 47, of Greeley, got into a fight with a 51-year-old female and fled the scene as police arrived.

Troopers say upon an extensive search they made contact with Swisher, but he again fled from PSP-Blooming Gove. An arrest warrant was then issued for Swisher.

RUTHERFORD CO., NC (WSPA) – A man wanted for child sex crimes in Georgia was arrested Wednesday in Rutherford County.

According to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, officers in Hinesville, Georgia contacted them regarding a fugitive who was possibly staying in North Carolina.

The suspect, Terry Lee Sledge, was wanted on two counts of Child Molestation, Aggravated Sodomy, and Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team found Sledge at a house in Spindale, deputies said.

A 75-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting three girls in San Jacinto and fleeing south of the border prior to a court appearance last year was apprehended in Mexico and extradited back to the United States, authorities said today.

Harry Arlington Durette was captured in Rosarito following an investigation by Riverside County District Attorney’s Office personnel and the U.S. Marshals’ Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Durette is charged with 65 felony offenses, most of them alleging forcible lewd acts on a child under 14 years old.

The US Embassy in Georgetown, Guyana

Fugitives Julian Yhip and Kareem Hack were on February 25 successfully extradited from Guyana to the United States to faces charges on separate sexual offences, the US Embassy has announced.

This was as a result of a joint endeavour involving the US Embassy, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Guyana Police Force, the US Department of Justice, the United States Marshal Service, and the Diplomatic Security Service.
