BANGOR SEX OFFENDER INDICTED ON CHILD PORN CHARGES

Robert Seger, 38, is a convicted sex offender who shocked the city when he was arrested lastsummer and charged with numerous counts alleging sexual impropriety with minors. A federal grandjury indicted him and charged him with coercing three minors to perform sex acts that allegedlywere recorded and sent over the Internet. He has also been charged with possessing and receivingchild pornography. He faces a maximum of 20 years in prison on each of three counts alleging thecoercion and then taping the incidents for purposes of creating a visual depiction thendisseminated over the Internet if convicted. According to the Bangor Daily News, he also faces amaximum penalty of 15

years in prison on each of two counts alleging he received and distribute computer images ofchild pornography over the Internet and a maximum penalty of five years on each of two countsalleging he possessed a computer disk, computer hard drive or other material that contained childpornography. He also faces hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines if convicted.
