Brovold may have traveled to Bital and Tepey, Mexico. He has ties to Granite Falls and WoodLake, Minnesota; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Martinez, Georgia. He spends a lot of time oncomputers in chat rooms, reportedly engaging in sexually explicit conversations.

CAUTION

Curtis Lee Brovold is wanted for his alleged sexual activities with a 14-year-old Minnesota girlwhom he met on the Internet in February of 2000. Brovold is alleged to have communicated with thevictim mostly via Internet for approximately six months. Then, in July of 2000, Brovold allegedlyflew to Moorhead, Minnesota, met the teenage victim, and engaged in sex acts with her at a localhotel.

Brovold was arrested on July 11, 2000, and released on bond. However, Brovold did not appear forhis court hearing which was scheduled for September 18, 2000, in Clay County, Minnesota. That sameday, a state arrest warrant was issued in the State of Minnesota, Seventh Judicial District, afterBrovold was charged with criminal sexual conduct. Brovold was charged subsequently with unlawfulflight to avoid prosecution and a federal arrest warrant was issued by the United States DistrictCourt, State and District of Minnesota.
