United States Attorney Dennis R. Holmes announced that Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), with the assistance of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Sioux Falls Police Department, Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office, South Dakota Highway Patrol, Air Force Office of Special Investigations, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted a joint online sex crimes operation that ran from March 6, 2022, through March 10, 2022.

As a result, the following five men were arrested:

LANCASTER COUNTY, SC A Lancaster County man on bail from previous charges is accused of sending child sex videos online using Instagram and Google social media, according to court records and arrest warrants. Samuel Wayne Flowers, 32, of Kershaw, was arrested Tuesday on two counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of minors and one count of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor by Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office deputies, arrest warrants obtained by The Herald show. DURHAM, N.C. — A former Durham gymnastics coach indicted for sex crimes against three young gymnasts has been offered a plea agreement — that comes with a much lighter sentence.

This week, however, a judge refused to accept the agreement as written.

Stephen Maness, the man at the center of this case, once operated Bull City Gymnastics. He has been accused of assaulting three young girls who were enrolled there.

Two Toledo men have been indicted – again — for rape and importuning.

A Wood County grand jury on Wednesday indicted Emiliano Mendoza, 28, Bowling Green, for compelling prostitution, a third-degree felony.

On Oct. 7, he is accused of knowingly encouraging or soliciting a sexual activity for hire with a 16-year-old.

John Eric Gebrosky, 34, of Toledo and currently in jail, was indicted for rape, a first-degree felony, and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a fourth-degree felony.

FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — A former Fayette County teacher pleaded guilty to multiple child sexual assault charges involving teenage boys.

Anthony Ciliberti, Jr., Prosecuting Attorney for Fayette County, says that Leonard Dale Varner, Jr., 35, pleaded guilty on Monday, Mar. 7, 2022, to one count of third-degree sexual assault, one count of second-degree sexual assault, one count of sexual abuse, parent, guardian, custodian, or person in position of trust and soliciting a minor.

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — An Alabama man has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for sex crimes involving a teenage girl, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

A judge sentenced 44-year-old Aaron Carpenter on Thursday to three felony sex offenses involving a teenage girl, dating back to 2018.

Deputies said Carpenter was arrested for three sex offense charges on Sept. 23, 2020, in Mobile, Alabama.

Carpenter would later admit to detectives that he sexually abused the victim multiple times,
