The head of the UN’s World Food Programme (WFP) has vowed to take “aggressive” action against sex abusers, following an internal survey that found multiple allegations of rape and sexual assault at the agency.
“If we have a claim of rape by anyone in the WFP, if we can substantiate, I can’t begin to tell you how aggressive” actions will be, executive director David Beasley told news agency Associated Press.
At least 28 employees said they had experienced rape, attempted rape or sexual assault while working at WFP.

A convicted rapist sexually assaulted a five-year-old girl on a train in front of her mother while travelling home from prison.

PEORIA, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) – An arrest has been made in connection to an “extremely brazen” burglary and “sexual offense” that happened at a Peoria home Wednesday around 8 a.m. in the neighborhood of 97th and Olive avenues.
Peoria police said detectives and SWAT arrested 22-year-old Eniefiok Akpanikat around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday night at a Peoria home in the area of 97th Avenue and Mission Lane.
According to police, Akpanikat knocked on the door of a home and told the woman who answered that he would walk her dogs.

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – A 26-year-old Spotsylvania County man became the first person charged in the attorney general’s rape kit backlog project.

Dyron R. Williams faces a charge of carnal knowledge of a child between 13 and 15 years old from an incident in 2012.

Attorney General Mark Herring’s office says Williams was identified after a DNA profile was developed from evidence collected at the scene and then matched in a national database.
