EX-BELLPORT HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL PLEADS GUILTY TO CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGE

Kevin O'Connell, the 54 year old Roosevelt school district official facingfederal charges of receiving child pornography, was effectively prohibited from reporting to workand will not receive pay during his absence. O'Connell was arrested when federal agentsexecuted a search warrant after they traced an Internet address advertising three video filesavailable for sharing to his home. Examination of computer equipment in his home confirmedthe presence of numerous videos of apparent child pornography.
O'Connell, pleaded guilty Wednesday to the child pornography charge. He faces amandatory minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years in prison when he is sentenced at a laterdate.
