RAPE STRING TERRORIZES RUTGERS AREA

Eleven sexual assaults within two years have authorities stepping up patrol efforts and students at Rutgers University taking precautions.  Ten women and a 14 year old girl have been assaulted since September 2001, including attacks on May 16 and June 9 and 13.  Four of the victims were college students.  Three of the assaults have been linked by DNA evidence to one man, who authorities say attacked a student last August at knifepoint then apologized and kissed the victim before fleeing.  Authorities are awaiting test results to determine if that assailant is responsible for a February 2003 rape of a 46 year old woman and her 14 year old daughter.
