SCHOOLS WARN PARENTS OF A CHILD PREDATOR

A suspected child predator twice tried to lure girls into his car near a Huntington Station school.  School officials sent letters home with more than 6,000 children in seven district schools about the incidents on January 10 and 11.  A man driving a black, 4-door sedan with tinted windows approached a female Stimson Middle School student near the intersection of West 22nd Street & Mayo Avenue on January 10 about 11 a.m.  The man told the girl he was looking for a lost dog, opened a rear car door, and asked her to help him look.  The girl ran to a friend's house where police were called.  the next day, a man driving a car of the same description approached another female student outside a store on Jericho Turnpike at 3:05 p.m. and asked for her help looking for a lost dog.  She also went for help.
