WEB ‘PERV’ IN KID RAPE

Ronald Sheridan, a 48 year old California man, has been charged with raping a 13 year old girl at a motel after romancing her through an Internet instant-messaging service.  Sheridan, of Hollister, flew across the country earlier this month, picked up the girl at her high school and took her to a motel.  The girl willingly had sex but was legally incapable of consent because of her age.  He is charged with second degree rape and disseminating indecent material to a minor and was being held yesterday in lieu of $100,000 bail.  He faces up to 21 years in prison if convicted.
