ALERT OUT FOR GIRL MISSING IN CALIFORNIA

Police issued a statewide Amber Alert yesterday for 10 year old Nicole Timmons.  She was reported missing from her home after 7 a.m. when her mother did not find her in her room.  Nicole is 4 foot 6 with long brown hair and was last seen when her mother put her to bed Monday night.  Lt. John Wallace said information he wouldn't reveal makes us believe that this was possibly not a walk-away, that some sort of foul play or abduction is involved.  Authorities are looking for Nicoles' father, Ralph Timmons and a second man described as a family friend and occasional baby sitter.  Neither was named as suspects.  They said the father, who does not live at the Riverside home, was scheduled to travel out of the country yesterday.  The Amber Alert program is named for Amber Hagerman, a 9 year old Texas girl who was kidnapped and killed in 1996.  The alert program is to aggressively publicize missing-children cases.  Ambers attacker was never found.
