Former NFL player Kellen Winslow II pleaded guilty in court Monday to two sex crime charges. The former first-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2004 faces 12 to 18 years in prison, rather than life.
The decision happened minutes before the 36-year-old was to face trial again. USA TODAY reported Winslow admitted to two counts involving two victims: the 2003 rape of an unconscious teen, and the 2018 sexual battery of a 54-year-old hitchhiker in Encinitas.

A man has been jailed for raping a teenage girl while other men also abused her in Huddersfield.
Banaris Hussain, 36, told the judge it was a “miscarriage of justice” as he was led from the dock after being sentenced to 10 years behind bars at Leeds Crown Court.
A total of 27 men have now been convicted following West Yorkshire Police’s Operation Tendersea investigation into child sexual exploitation in the town, with prison sentences totalling more than 300 years.

A 26-year-old Hays man was sentenced to more than five years in prison Monday for having sex with a 14-year-old.
Robert Sanetta was originally charged with two counts of indent liberties with a child and one count of criminal sodomy for engaging in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old in 2018.
As the result of a plea agreement, Sanetta pleaded no contest in September to the two felony counts of indent liberties and the criminal sodomy charged was dismissed.

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — A former northern Michigan pastor charged with several sex crimes will spend at least the next decade in prison.
On Tuesday, a judge sentenced Christopher Cox to 10 to 15 years behind bars for one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – A Brunswick County man will spend nearly eight decades in prison after he was convicted of nearly a dozen child sex crime charges.

According to a news release from the District Attorney’s Office, Jay Johnson Waugh Jr., 37, was convicted of one count of indecent liberties with a child, one count of rape of a child by an adult offender, and eight counts sex offense with a child by an adult offender.

An Ammon man has been arrested after he turned himself in for sexually abusing a child.
John David Peterson, 40, called Child Protective Services on Oct. 9 and admitted to having sexually abused a girl who was 12 years old at the time.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Peterson told Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office deputy he had groped the victim multiple times. The deputy also interviewed the victim, who said Peterson would grab her inappropriately and try to get her alone with him.
