The late co-founder of the Portland-based, global nonprofit organization, Mercy Corps, allegedly abused his daughter from preschool until high school, according to a newly-released investigative report.

The Oregonian found that Mercy Corps executives knew co-founder Ellsworth Culver had been credibly accused of serial sexual abuse by his daughter. They still allowed him to continue working there for more than a decade.

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A 24-year-old was arrested in East Carbon on Sunday after an 11-year-old girl told police he sodomized her while giving her a tattoo.

Michael Easley was booked into the Carbon County Jail and held on charges of sodomy on a child, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and unlawful tattooing of a minor.

Police were contacted by a concerned woman whose granddaughter said one of her friends had been sexually assaulted by Easley, according to a statement of probable cause for Easley’s arrest,

A man from El Salvador — who allegedly fled Texas when three children reported that he sexually abused them at his Wichita Falls home — successfully sought a reduced bail Friday in 78th District Court.

Juan Jose Medrano, 61, of Wichita Falls was still being held Sunday in Wichita County Jail on $125,000 in bonds — lowered from $350,000, according to jail and court records.

Medrano is a permanent resident with permission to work in the United States, according to court records and testimony.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — An illegal immigrant from Mexico convicted of committing a child sex crime is back in custody after being released by the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, according to a release from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A former Grand Rapids schools teacher was sentenced to 35 years in federal prison for persuading a Florida teen to produce and send him sexually explicit photographs.
Philip Paauwe, 33, earlier pleaded guilty to coercion or enticement of a minor – age 15 to 17 – for convincing the girl to send the photos, which constitute child pornography.
