A Texas man was arrested after a 9-year-old relative was caught at school searching pornographyto learn about what the creep had been doing to her, court documents reveal.

Anthony Garay, 31, of San Antonio, faces charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child, afirst-degree felony, the San Antonio Express-News reports. He remained jailed as of late Wednesdayin Bexar County Jail on $75,000 bond, jail officials said.

New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo announced on Thursday that he has started a newinitiative to help social networking sites keep child pornography off of the Internet.  Theinitiative uses a database containing hash values, considered to be digital fingerprints in theInternet world, that will be made available to social networking sites.  Over 8,000 childpornography images hash tags have been collected by Cuomo’s office.  Both Facebook and MySpacehave already signed up to use the database to help stop child porn and Cuomo has urged other major sites to come

Attorney General Andrew Cuomo today announced that more than 3,500 registeredNew York State sex offenders have been purged from social networking sites Facebook and MySpace inthe first database sweep since the state’s new Electronic Securing and Targeting of OnlinePredators Act (e-STOP) went into effect.  Under e-STOP – the nation’s most comprehensive lawto enhance protections from sexual predators on the Internet – many sexual predators are bannedoutright from using social networking sites on the Internet while on probation or parole. Also, convicted sex offenders must register all of their e-mail addresses, screen
