CHICAGO — A 2-year-old dog named Hatty will soon be wagging her tail at the Cook County Courthouse.
Hatty, a Labrador retriever, was sworn in Tuesday and will serve as a support dog to children and people with mental disabilities who have been the victims of sexual violence.
Survivors will be able to use Hatty when testifying and when being interviewed by prosecutors and other officials, according to a news release from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.

A Northern Virginia gymnastics coach has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing an underage athlete more than a decade ago.
Prince William County Police say Sergio Galvez, now 47, trained the alleged victim at the Capital Gymnastics National Training Center in Burke and sexually abused her multiple times in the Haymarket area between August 2007 and November 2008.

A Florida pastor and popular Christian radio host who was recently charged with sexually abusing a teenage girl has killed himself, authorities say.
Bryan Fulwider, 59, was pronounced dead in his home late Sunday, Altamonte Springs police told the Orlando Sentinel. The pastor and former ‘Friends Talking Faith’ co-host had been out on bail since Oct. 17.

A Florida man was charged with raping a woman and later admitted to killing a man and woman in Mexico, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Omar Navis Torres, 39, who the victim says has a “crack and alcohol addiction,” allegedly beat the unnamed woman before sexually assaulting her.
