SALISBURY, N.C. (WBTV) – Two men have been recently charged by Salisbury Police with sex crimes involving children.

On Friday, police charged Clayton J. Briggs, 67, with three counts of statutory rape/sex offense and four counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor.

The charges stemmed from an investigation at the Rowan Sheriff’s Office that began on December 5. Arrest warrants were issued on Thursday of last week following extensive interviews, forensic interviews, and consultation with the Rowan District Attorney’s Office. The former president of Franklin College in Indiana – who spent about seven years as a vice president at American University in Washington, D.C. – is facing charges related to child sex crimes after he allegedly attempted to meet a 15-year-old who turned out to be an undercover police officer.
The Indiana college fired Thomas Minar after school officials learned of his arrest in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, according to a statement from Franklin College. School leaders also announced plans to investigate Minar’s conduct while he was president.

Yucca Valley High School Football Assistant John Linn has been relieved of all duties related to the Morongo Unified School District.
This comes a day after San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department announced the arrest of the 55-year-old Pioneertown resident. The release stats that the department received a report of a sexual relationship between Linn and a 14-year-old child.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The “architect” of the Jaguars’ video board system is accused of repeatedly hacking the giant scoreboards during the 2018 season, after his contract was not renewed by the team, according to an indictment announced Thursday by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
