NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A Newport News man has pleaded guilty to sex crimes against minors following his arrest back in 2019.
Then 61-year-old Curtis Charles Claypool was arrested by Newport News Police back in July of 2019. He was charged with eight counts each of displaying child pornography to a child, taking indecent liberties with a child, aggravated sexual battery: victim 13 years-old or younger, object sexual penetration: victim 13 years-old or younger and sodomy: victim 13 years-old or younger.

The chief meteorologist for WBNS 10TV in Columbus, Ohio, was arrested Thursday on charges involving child pornography, the TV station reported.
Davis was charged with pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, an offense court records say took place on Aug. 5. More charges could be forthcoming.

Gerry Grant, a veteran local television newsman is charged with possessing child pornography, a felony punishable by two to ten years in prison.  Grant, 41, was arrested Monday night at a local motel after he bought four sexually explicit photographs of children who appear to be between the ages of 6 and 12.  He was released on $100,000 bond on Tuesday.

Michael Longman, 43, a local television newscaster is wanted for molesting a boy in a drugs-for-sex scandal, police said.  An arrest warrant was issued for Longman in connection with his relationship with a 15 year old boy he allegedly gave cocaine to for sex while watching pornographic movies.  The warrant charges Longman with an aggravated crime against nature, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, pornography involving a juvenile, cruelty of a juvenile and possession of drug paraphernalia.
