CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) – A candidate for the Board of Education in Cabarrus County has been charged with a sex crime by the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the report, 22-year-old Hunter Scott Moore, of Rockwell, was charged with soliciting a crime against nature. The report states that on June 22, 2020, the Cabarrus County Sheriff`s Office Vice/Narcotics division “conducted an undercover operation of an individual soliciting for crimes against nature. Wesley Harris, a 32 year old former school board candidate and youth football coach from Wyandanch, has been charged with raping an underage girl.  He was arrested November 1st and arraigned the following day with one count of second degree rape.  He allegedly raped the girl, who is under the age of 15, on Halloween night at his residence.  Harris pleaded not guilty and bail was set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.
