CHARITY CAMP COUNSELORS ACCUSED OF SEX ABUSE
Philip Nicklin, 21, and Alexander Grant, 20, both of Manchester, England; and Patrick McGeever, 22, also British, but living for the past year in Lake Ronkonkoma, were arrested on sex charges Sunday after a 14 year old boy who uses a wheelchair told his parents about a game that involved improper touching. The arrests were made at the Southampton Fresh Air Home after the boy talked to his parents during a family-day outing at the camp on Sunday. The three counselors were arrested on misdemeanor charges. They are all charged with second-degree sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disable person. The allegations involve three young boys, the 14 year old and two 12 year old. During a dare game, the boys' genitalia were flicked with a finger in order to cause pain and caustic aftershave lotion was poured on their public regions. Parents who may have heard similar accounts from their children should call detectives at 631-728-5000.
