COPS: TEEN’S TALE WAS FALSE

A Mastic teenage girl's claim that she fought off a man who grabbed her while she was waiting for her school bus Monday was fabricated.  She made up the story because she wanted attention.  The 13 year old girl who fabricated this incident was arrested and charged with falsely reporting an incident.  This is the second similar incident reported to police in the Mastic area this year that turned out to be false.  Two other such incidents there were real and detectives made arrests in both of those cases.
