EX-COP JAILED IN TEEN SEX CASE

Lorne Kubat, a 34 year old former New York City police officer from Ronkonkoma, was sentenced to6 months in jail for luring five teenage girls into his home with alcohol and drugs to have sexwith them, one of the victims being his own partner's daughter. Kubat, who retired from the forcewithin the past two years with an injury after about nine years of service, was sentenced Wednesdayto 6 months in jail and 10 years probation. He was convicted of third degree rape, committing acriminal sexual act, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child. The victims were 14to 16. He had originally been charged with 24 counts in connection with crimes against the fivegirls that took place between the fall of last year and the spring of this year. He was arrestedMarch 17. Kubat must also register as a sex offender.
