FORMER SCOUT LEADER ARRESTED

PFMLIT BOY GIRL SCOUT LEADERS, General, LONG ISLAND NEWS, SEX OFFENDERS AND OTHERS IN POSITIONS OF TRUST

William Elliott, a 60-year-old former West Hempstead Boy Scout leader, was arrested and charged with 20 misdemeanor counts ranging from endangering the welfare of a child to second-degree sex abuse.  He is charged with molesting four boys in his troop during the past 14 months.

They ranged in age from 11 to 16 and were members of a troop in West Hempstead which is comprised of 33 Boy Scouts.  He pleaded not guilty and was released on $12,000 bail and is to appear in court February 6.
