MAN CHARGED IN KIDNAP AND RAPE OF 2 GIRLS

Erick Thomas Knapp, Jr., 31, kidnapped two girls, ages 13 and 7, in separate incidents fromtheir homes while their parents slept. He took them to a house construction site and raped thembefore sending them home, threatening to kill their families if they said anything. Knapp wascharged with kidnapping, armed burglary and sexual battery and was being held in the CharlotteCounty jail without bond. If convicted, he could face the death penalty for raping a person youngerthan age 12.
