MEDFORD SPIRITUAL ADVISOR FOUND GUILTY OF SEX CRIMES

Miguel Leon Jr., a 53 year old Medford man who portrayed himself as a spiritual advisor torna Suffolk family, was found guilty of sodomizing two teenage boys, ages 14 and 15, from December ofrn2008 to July of 2009.  Leon, of Sipp Avenue, claimed to be a spiritualist in the Lucumi Yorubarnreligion.  He told the victims that by performing sex acts with him, they would acquirernspiritual energy, power, and a higher level of enlightenment.  He was found guilty of 20rncounts of criminal sex act in the second degree, 15 counts of criminal sex act in the third degreernand two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.  Prosecutors will recommend the maximumrnof 20 years in prison.rn
