MOM PLEADS GUILTY IN GIRLS’ RAPES
A 41 year old Sayville mother was arrested by White Plains police, who they said allowed two men she had just met to rape her 13 year old daughter and another girl in a hotel in April. Police said the woman did not arrange or plan for the rapes to happen, but knew they were occurring and did nothing to stop them. Gilberto Gonzalez, 19, of Pleasantville, is charged with first degree rape and Michael Berger, 18, of White Plains, is charged with second degree rape. The woman is charged with unlawfully dealing with a child, criminal facilitation and endangering the welfare of a child. The rapes occurred on April 9.
As of June 2, felony rape charges have now been filed against the mother. Westchester District Attorney Jeanine Pirro said a grand jury indicted the woman on two counts of second degree rape and 11 other crimes stemming from the incident. Pirro said the woman was charged as an accessory. She was held on $100,000 bail.
Second degree rape carries a maximum sentence of 2 1/3 to 7 years in prison. Berger was released on $7,500 bail and Gonzalez was held on $25,000 bail.
On September 21, the woman pleaded guilty to providing the hotel room and liquor to her daughter and the friend so the girls could have sex with the men. The woman told investigators it was time for her daughter to have sex and get it over with. She pleaded guilty to a 10-count indictment, which charged her as an accessory to the rape of two underage girls. She will be sentenced to 6 months in jail and 10 years probation.
