NAB HIGH SCHOOL SAFETY OFFICER IN FONDLING OF STUDENTS
Joseph Vazquez, a 43 year old school safety officer who worked at Manhattan's High School for Humanities, was charged yesterday with fondling two male students last year. He was arrested February 17 at an administrative office, where he had been assigned since the Police Department's Internal Affairs Bureau began investigating him in June. He allegedly lured the students into a basement bathroom at the school, told them to pull down their pants and fondled them in two separate instances last year. He lured one student into the bathroom by threatening to tell school officials about a fight in the cafeteria and the second student was fondled while Vazquez frisked him inside the bathroom. Vazquez has been suspended.
