PERVS STAY IN FULL SITE (Net alerts from school)

In a move that supporters hope will protect kids and save taxpayer money, parents of Half Hollow Hills students need only check their E-mail to learn that a registered sex offender has moved anywhere on Long Island.  Through the district's new partnership with Parents for Megan's Law, E-mail alerts will be sent to parents.  This is going to prevent crimes, without question.  It will prevent victimization, said Laura Ahearn, executive director of Parents for Megan's Law.  The school Web site links to the Parents for Megan's Law site, where registration forms can be found.  Information is sent to the advocacy group by Nassau and Suffolk police, then it will be distributed to parents.
