‘SERIAL PERV’ DENIES HORROR GROPE ATTACKS

Johnny Rios, a 20 year old unemployed Manhattan man, pleaded not guilty yesterday to charges that he's the perverted scourge of Manhattanville, a serial exhibitionist and groper of young girls.  He has admitted to exposing himself and sometimes sexually grabbing eight girl, ages 9 to 19.  The attacks happened last fall, winter and spring, usually in the late afternoon after school let out.  In late February, he allegedly tried to trap terrified girls in an elevator while demanding they perform a sex act.  He also allegedly exposed himself to a 10 year old girl, then knocked her to the ground and groped her.  Rios faces up to 15 years of prison if convicted of the top charge, first degree sexual abuse.  He is currently on probation for a sex offense in Westchester County.
