TWO ARRESTED IN PORN CASES
Peter Burke, a 49 year old counselor at Stony Brook University for more than 20 years from Queens, and Robert Fischer, a 73 year old retired elementary school teacher from Holbrook, were arrested Thursday in separate investigations after sexually explicit images of children were discovered on their computers. In each case, computer technicians found the photographs, some depicting pre-pubescent children having sex with adults, notified authorities. Burke kept a significant number of pornographic images stored at his office computer on campus and Fischer, who taught music at the Plainedge Union School District for 33 years before retiring in 1989, had more than 100 images saved on his home comuter. Fischer is charged with one count of possessing a sexual performance of a child, a felony punishable by up to 4 years in prison.
Burke, who also had illegal images stored on a compact disc, was charged with two counts of the same crime.
They were both arraigned and released without bail pending their next court dates.
