VALLEY STREAM MAN CHARGED AS STALKER

Joseph Mosomi, a 25 year old Valley Stream man, is charged with felony stalking, a law that went into effect in New York in December 1999.  He was arrested in the alleged stalking of a 10-year-old girl he met in his neighborhood.  He pleaded not guilty and was released from Nassau County jail after posting $2,500 cash bail.  Mosomi, an acquaintance of the girl's family, began approaching the girl in December when she was playing outside her home.  Although there was no sexual touching, sometimes he hugged the girl and told her that he loved her.  According to Newsday, Mosomi, a security guard at a West Hempstead company, was sometimes invited to the girl's house by her parents, who live nearby, and when they were not paying attention, he would touch her in a nonsexual way.  The girl's father saw the contact on one occasion and called police after talking to his daughter.  The court issued an order of protection mandating that he stay away from the girl.
